What I can help with

From an unreliable laptop to a desktop built around your workload, I start with what you need the device to do. I service PCs and Macs, build custom desktops, and configure custom water cooling. Phone, tablet, and low-level repairs are evaluated individually against parts availability, device condition, and the cost of the work.

  • Startup failures, crashes, freezing, and slow performance
  • Storage and memory upgrades, drive cloning, and data transfer
  • Battery, keyboard, display, hinge, cooling, and power diagnosis
  • Windows, Linux, and macOS installation, recovery, and configuration
  • Virus and malware removal, unwanted-software cleanup, and recovery planning
  • Phone and tablet repair on a case-by-case basis, including Android and iOS devices
  • Custom desktop builds: component selection, assembly, setup, and testing
  • Custom water cooling: compatibility, loop planning, assembly, and testing
  • Low-level device repair, considered case by case when the cost is justified

Before you request help

Include the model, symptoms, when the problem began, and any recent changes. Mention whether important files are backed up. Do not send account passwords or recovery keys in your initial request.

Common questions

Should I repair or replace my computer?

That depends on the fault, the age and condition of the device, and the cost of parts and labor. I can compare those tradeoffs before you approve major work.

Can you diagnose a computer remotely?

Some software and performance issues can be assessed remotely if the computer starts and connects to the internet. Physical damage, power failures, and component replacement usually require hands-on work.

Do you service Macs, phones, and tablets?

Yes. I service Macs and work with macOS as well as Windows and Linux. Phone and tablet repairs, including Android and iOS devices, are accepted case by case after reviewing the model, fault, parts, and expected cost.

Can you build a custom desktop or water-cooling loop?

Yes. I can help plan and build a desktop around your workload, budget, space, and noise preferences, including custom water cooling. Component compatibility, case layout, cooling requirements, parts, assembly, and testing are scoped before work begins.

Can you remove viruses and malware?

Yes. I offer virus and malware removal and help assess what recovery work is needed. The next step may include removing unwanted software, restoring from a suitable backup, or reinstalling the operating system. Cleanup and recovery are scoped to the condition of the device.

Can I ship electronics to you for repair?

I accept shipped electronics by prior arrangement. Contact me before sending a device. The shipping address and instructions are provided once we agree on the service. You are responsible for shipping insurance and the cost of return shipping.

Do you offer low-level device repair?

I provide low-level device repair on a case-by-case basis when the cost is justified by the value and usefulness of the device. The fault, parts availability, and expected repair cost determine whether the work makes sense.

What does residential repair cost?

The typical residential rate is $90 per hour, with parts and materials billed separately. Residential repair and troubleshooting pauses after two hours ($180 in labor) for your approval before any additional time is billed.

Before we get started

How to arrange service

On-site service
Pittsburgh and Southwestern Pennsylvania, by arrangement. Include your general location so I can confirm whether an on-site visit is practical. Travel costs are agreed before work begins.
Remote service
Available elsewhere when the device, connection, and issue allow it. Tell me whether the affected device starts and can reach the internet.
Scheduling & handoff
Start a request, call, or text. I confirm availability, the service location, and any device handoff or shipping arrangements before you make a trip or send a device. Submitting a request does not reserve an appointment.
What to send
Include the device model or website, the symptoms or goal, when it started, and any deadline. Mention backup status for repairs. Keep passwords and recovery keys out of the initial request.
Scope & approval
Typical labor is $90/hour for residential work and $150/hour for business work. Parts are separate. Residential repair and troubleshooting pauses after two hours ($180 in labor) for approval before more time is billed.
